Social & English Gr. 7 to 11, Agriculture, Inclusive Learning Coach

My time in Buffalo Trail Public Schools has been nothing short of an exciting adventure! After starting at Dewberry School in 2013, taking a 5 year hiatus to Kitscoty Elementary School, where in my final year I joined the BTPS Leadership Team as acting Assistant Principal, I had the great fortune to join my long lost Dewberry School Family again in 2019 as Assistant Principal and Inclusive Learning Coach. I have taught a variety of subject areas from grades 1-12 and simply can't choose a favourite age or subject to teach!
Fast forward to Fall 2021, I stepped back into the classroom full time as the Junior and Senior High Humanities teacher, Green Certificate Poultry Instructor, and Inclusive Learning Coach.  I believe that all students should have access to fair and equitable education, that is inclusive in nature, meeting students where they are at in their educational journey and encouraging them to strive for greater things. I believe in providing quality core instruction and allowing for hands-on learning opportunities for students to achieve success in more than just the classroom setting. At the heart of my teaching is the idea of "who" students will become on their journey to graduate, rather than what they will "do" afterwards. Our school's mission of Working Together For Success is farther reaching than just the walls of our school. We are a family and I am happy to call Dewberry home.
